Nintendo of America Gives Thumbs Up to Azure Striker Gunvolt

Hold on to your hats, classic Japanese action game fans. Nintendo of America has approved of the exciting Azure Striker Gunvolt, and you can expect to find it on the Nintendo 3DS in the coming weeks.

Mega Man 9 and Mega Man Zero developer Inti Creates has been hard at work wrapping up production on this game while moonlighting as the programmers for Keiji Infune’s Mighty No. 9. Honestly, on all accounts, I’m far more impressed with what I’ve seen from Azure Striker Gunvolt that anything I’ve seen out the $4 million Kickstarter sensation.

The perfectly calculated level design, the fantastic artwork, the boss’ battle patterns, the mechanics powering the fast action. This is the game to keep an eye on if you are into retro action games from the re-surging age back when Japanese game design was king. Thanks to indie developers like Inti Creates, I get to relive my childhood all over again with magnificent titles like Azure Striker Gunvolt.

No release date as of yet, but be sure to stay tuned for our thoughts and opinions on what could be one of the surprise hits of the year. Azure Striker Gunvolt will be released digitally for the Nintendo 3DS. No physical edition has been confirmed yet, nor do I think it will be.
