Well here’s something you don’t read everyday: apparently one of Google’s Street View drivers recently went down a one-way street and crashed his car. Oops. I hope he wasn’t using Google Maps.

The news was first reported by The Smoking Gun, which said that the Google Street View Driver was cruising around Arkansas in his 2010 Subaru Legacy mapping the roads when he smashed into another car, ultimately causing about $2,000 in damage. The Google driver in question was apparently a local named Alexander Spurr, who realized he had made a mistake and tried to turn around, but that’s when he ran into another driver. He’s now fearing for his job as a Google Maps Driver, The Smoking Gun said, noting that his car received about $1,500 in damages.

Google Street View is an amazingly useful piece of technology that ultimately can help prevent accidents, yet, in this case it caused one. Thankfully it appears there were no serious injuries.
