I wrote about it a while back when Kevin Spacey was introduced, but the actor’s involvement in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has me interested in a franchise I haven’t cared about in three years.
The campaign trailer that launched this week brings more Spacey into the mix. He’s the head of Atlas, a private military company that becomes the largest in the world after a series of large scale nuclear attacks. His sense of morality and power will, it appears, be a major hinging point for the game’s plot.
The more of Spacey we see, the more excited we are. Call of Duty‘s campaigns have suffered from a lack of focus and drive lately, and Spacey’s methodology might bring a much needed thread for the needle. He could be the driving point of this plot, and that has me rather excited for the game.
Which, if you’re familiar with my work here at TechnoBuffalo, is kind of crazy.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will hit its typical early November release window on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The exact date is November 4th, 2014. We’ll have more on the title as it comes.
For now, how does this brief glimpse of the campaign compare to the franchise’s more recent efforts in your book?
