EA Access Comes to Xbox One – Pay $5 a Month to Play Select EA Games

Microsoft and EA have just announced something a little crazy. It’s called EA Access, and it’s a subscription based plan that will give members access to specific EA games on the Xbox One.

Whether you want to play Peggle 2 or the FIFA 14, if you pay $4.99 a month, you’ll have instant digital access to the games on your Xbox One. The deal gets better if you go annual with your subscription; it’ll only cost $29.99 a year.

EA’s calling their selection of titles The Vault, and folks who are able to join up and pay the subscription fee today will have access to an initial small batch. EA Access is currently in beta form, and the available games are FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4.

EA Access members will also receive 10% off downloadable versions of EA games on the Xbox One. They’ll also be put into the Play First program. That means games like NHL 15 will be in their hands up to five days before release.

EA Access starts today as a rolling beta program to specific players. EA says that it will be available in full form soon. We’ll have more as this comes.

For now, does this seem like a worthwhile initiative to you?
