Suddenly, Rainbow Six: Siege has catapulted to the upper side of my “games to check out” list. It’s not a real list, sorry.
YouTube channel DuskBit posted a very long recorded livestream of Siege for the world to consume. It features some multiplayer action where one team of SWAT, let’s say, strategically raids a house trying to rescue a hostage.
The resulting action is dynamic, sudden and interesting. Plans are made, they go south quickly, and it’s really cool to see a team of players respond to those problems as they crop up.
Honestly, I haven’t been this impressed with a multiplayer shooter mechanic set in a long time. Rainbow Six: Siege looks genuinely unique, as long as this insufferably tough gameplay is kept up through launch.
Rainbow Six: Siege is slated to hit the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year. We’ll have more on the title as it comes.
