Hohokum and the Wacky, Unintelligible Launch Trailer

by Ron Duwell | July 25, 2014July 25, 2014 7:00 am PST

Sony’s interesting indie game Hohokum is due for release on August 12th, but it already has a launch trailer. Maybe it has something to do with Sony’s campaign to give you money if you pre-order it.

There’s not much to say about its launch trailer that the visuals don’t already do a thousand times better. Its narrator speaks in a language not of this Earth, and obviously there is no real plot to speak of. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be so confused.

Hohokum is an abstract game with no time limit, no points, and no real chance to win or lose in the traditional sense. Experiencing relaxing colors and music while undertaking simple tasks is what this game is all about.

Aside from scoring some dough, pre-orders also will land you a free Hohokum theme and special DLC pack for Sound Shapes. A $14.99 purchase will land you all three copies of the game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. If you want my advice, both Hohokum and Rogue Legacy should be your priorities for Sony’s PLAY offer.
