Sony’s Xperia Z3 has surfaced several times recently and, again, we’re getting a look at what sort of specs the company will include on its next flagship smartphone. Evleaks sounded off on what we can expect, and most of the specs line up with earlier reveals.
Evleaks said the Sony Xperia Z3 will pack a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.4GHz, 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU, a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 16GB of storage, a 20.7-megapixel camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat. That’s not a huge bump over the Xperia Z2 — the display size is slightly smaller and the processor is clocked slightly faster. We presume Sony will toss in some extra features — maybe the camera has been enhanced, or maybe the display technology is a generation newer. Either way, the company is definitely going to try to push this out to compete with the latest batch of handsets from Samsung, HTC and LG.
We’re expecting to see the Xperia Z3 during IFA in Berlin this September, though that’s just speculation at this point. We’re certainly anxious to see how Sony pumps this up against the Xperia Z2 — it just seems like too much of the same.
