Coin Card Update: Feedback Has Been “Overwhelmingly Positive”

Remember the Coin card? We were immediately impressed when the project first launched, though after speaking with the company’s CEO we started to have our doubts on if the device was ever going to hit the market. Coin, the card that allows you to store all of your credit and debit cards on a single device, is moving closer to launch. The company on Monday sent out an update to early backers.

‘Things are moving quickly,” an e-mail from Coin said. “Coin has now been swiped at thousands of bars, restaurants, shops, and stores and we’re happy to report the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Additionally, our in-house Reader Lab is testing new Point of Sale (POS) systems every day with great results; more swipes through more systems means a better experience for our users. Our confidence in having a great experience with Coin comes from meticulous research, rigorous testing, and lots of experience.”

The company originally promised to start shipping the card this summer, but we haven’t heard any updates on when the device is actually going to start shipping. The e-mail suggests things are moving along swimmingly, however, so hopefully the device lands in our hands soon.
