I guess this Saint Row series is quite the hit if its maker can expand so quickly. Developer Volition has announced plans to expand its staff by a whopping 100 people, bringing it to a total of 300! Link that with how huge Saints Row V is going to be.
In addition to hiring 100 new workers, Volition will remodel the inside of its headquarters to accommodate the expansion, asking the Champaign, Illinois local government for $200,000 and an additional $1,000 for each newly hired head.
The company has been widely popular because of its brutal roasting of video game trends and shortcomings in the Saints Row series backed by fun and fully competent gameplay. Not sure why, but rarely do humor and AAA design go that well together.
On the other hand, for as successful as Saints Row IV was, it received a bit of criticism for recycling one-too-many resources from the previous game. It’s an issue Volition no doubt wants to address with the jump into the new generation, and one the additional helping hands will hopefully aid.
Voice actor and comedian Jay Mohr teased his return to Saints Row V, indicating that it is in the works. It’s only a matter of time before we see it again.
