The OnePlus One is a frustrating device. Not because it isn’t good; it’s actually really great. But the company’s invite system has perturbed quite a few fans, to the point where more harm than good is probably being done. Still, the company is moving forward as if everything’s just peachy. Case in point: cheeky Twitter teasers.

“Wood you like to know more?” OnePlus asks on its Twitter. The pun being that “wood” should be “would.” A picture of wood is also included, with a date of July 22. The hint, of course, is that wood backs, which you can interchange with either the silk white or sandstone black. On the company’s site, there are four different wood finishes to choose from, ranging from light to dark. All come with the necessary slits for the camera and buttons, along with the OnePlus logo.
We’re not really sure what to expect if indeed the wood backs officially become available that day. Can anyone purchase one? Will that mean more devices will be available that day, too? We sure hope so. The consensus out in Internet-land seems to be that people are giving up on ever receiving an invite, so hopefully OnePlus gets that squared away soon.
In addition to the wood, OnePlus will also offer kevlar and denim, so there’s no shortage of options (if you can even buy a device in the first place).
