Some Xbox 360 Owners Being Offered $75 to Upgrade to Xbox One

You might be eligible for a $75 promotional code from Microsoft if you purchase an Xbox One. Apparently, you have to be one of Microsoft’s “very best customers.”

The promotion was spotted initially by a user on the NeoGAF forums, who managed to get a screenshot of the deal.

This isn’t being offered to all Xbox 360 owners, though, so what qualifies you? It could be something as simple as tenure – long running Xbox Live subscribers might be the target audience. It might even be gamers who simply use their console more often, though that doesn’t seem likely. It also doesn’t seem likely that it’s random.

If you do get the notice, in order to redeem the code, you have to activate an Xbox One with the Gamertag that received the notice by the end of July. It doesn’t matter where you purchase the console, though, as this isn’t a discount off the system but, rather, free money to spend on games. If you get the deal, consider yourself among the lucky few and start looking for the best bundle around.
