Vine Adds Feature Power Users Begged For

vine mobile update

Vine, the Twitter-owned app for filming and sharing 6-second looping videos, is a lot of fun to use. A big problem with the service, however, is that there hasn’t been a way to tell how many times a single video had been viewed. Vine is finally offering a solution.

The company pushed out an update for Vine on iOS, Android and the web today (sorry Windows Phone users), adding a loop counter to every video. The app is also getting a redesign for both Apple and Google’s platforms, which offers a cleaner view and edge-to-edge videos. Vine is also hoping to boost user engagement with new notifications that pop up whenever one of your videos hits a certain milestone.

If you’re checking out videos on Vine’s official website, the loop counter will update automatically and you can watch those numbers increase in real time. If you’re looking at an embedded Vine, you’ll have to manually refresh the page to see the loop count. Still, it’s pretty cool.
