Moto Maker Launches in Brand New Market

Moto X Custom, Back

As expected, Motorola’s awesome Moto Maker service is now available in Germany. The Moto X isn’t exactly a new device, but there’s no arguing it’s still among the best available. In terms of software features, there’s no denying the Moto X can hang with the best; in terms of specs, however, it’s ages behind. But fear not, because the Moto Maker service should give consumers that extra little edge when choosing their next smartphone.

The process is simple: just go to the Moto Maker website, and you have options to choose colors for the front, rear and accent parts. Most devices today have pretty limited color options, whereas Moto Maker offers 30 different choices for the back cover alone (that includes the four different wood options).

The offer is through Germany’s Phone House, so it’s a pretty limited affair in terms of availability. Still, you now have the choice, and there’s no way we’re going to argue against that. In addition to the color options, buyers can also choose a short custom message on the back of the case for that extra little personalization.

We’ve been hearing there may be even more Moto Maker options when the Moto X+1 launches at the end of summer, so you may want to hold out if you want to see what Motorola is working on. Not only will the Moto X successor reportedly use Moto Maker, but we’re also hearing the Moto 360, the company’s awesome smartwatch, will also take advantage of the service. Whether that’s also through Phone House remains to be seen.
