Apple’s annual back-to-school sale kicked off today, with the company offering discounts on Macs and iPads along with extra Apple Store credit. That’s an improvement over last year, when the back-to-school gift cards the company handed out only covered iTunes digital media purchases.
Starting today, eligible customers will get a $100 gift card with every Mac computer purchased and a $50 gift card with every iPad and iPhone. Apple is also offering discounted prices on some products. You can save up to $200 on a new MacBook, iMac or Mac Pro, and up to $30 on a new iPad. iPhones aren’t discounted out of the gate, but you’ll still get a $50 gift card with each purchase.
To take advantage of these summer deals you’ll need to be a college student or headed to college this fall. Parents of students can also use the discount when shopping for their children, as can college faculty and staff members. These deals are available starting today and will last until September 9 across the U.S., Canada, U.K. and other parts of Europe.
