Above, apparently, is a shot of the HTC Volantis, which is rumored to be the next Nexus tablet. This isn’t exactly the most revealing shot of the device, though plenty of identifying information seems to have been blurred out. The codename, as we’ve heard before, appears to be Flounder; not much other information is shared, though it does appear as though the Volantis is indeed a device that’s coming soon.
The alleged Nexus device was unveiled last week as an 8.9-inch slate with 2048×1440 screen. The earlier report claims the device would sport a 4:3 aspect ratio, Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera with OIS and “aluminum zero-gap construction with tapered-sides.”
We already know that new Nexus devices are on the way, so it’s no surprise to see more evidence pop up. The specs of the alleged Volantis were a bit contentious at the time of their reporting, so they may not be final just yet. However, information about the device does appear to be floating out there in the rumor mill, so perhaps we’ll find out more definitive information soon.
