Chromecast Backdrop Feature Spices Up Your Homescreen

Google just announced a new feature for the Chromecast called “Backdrop” that allows you to do more from the default Chromecast screen on your TV. You can add stuff like personal photos to the ambient photo feed and more.

Another option, called “Spaces,” brings geospatial images from Google Maps to your TV. News and lifestyle topics can be added to backdrop, as can art from famous museums around the world.

Backdrop is rolling out to all users later this summer, Google said.
