Google announced a new program called Android One to help companies make and sell cheaper Android smartphones..
The program will launch in India with three phone-makers. The goal is to offer a simple turn-key version of stock Android in an effort to get Google’s mobile OS into even more hands around the world. Android One will offer automatic updates, and these devices should cost less than $100. It sounds a lot like the new version of Google’s Nexus program we were expecting to see announced during Google I/O today.
