OnePlus built a ton of hype around its debut smartphone, but the Chinese company is still struggling to ship the new device. If you were lucky enough to grab an invitation for the OnePlus One it’s possible you’ve already got your hands on the phone, but for European customers it looks like it could be another few weeks before the flagship phone arrives.
The issue has to do with the CE Logo that the European Union requires on all mobile devices shipped to the continent. Normally this isn’t an issue, but it turns out OnePlus actually modified the logo on the One to match its own branding. EU customs quickly noticed the mistake and stopped the new smartphones at the border before sending them back to the company.
In a statement to Ireland’s Technology Blog, OnePlus confirmed it was working to redesign the smartphone’s back cover. Unfortunately for Europe, the device probably won’t reship for another two weeks.
The OnePlus One is an impressive smartphone at an awesome price, offering high-end specs and a beautiful 5.5-inch screen for just $299 off-contract. Unfortunately it could be a while before you get your hands on the device, unless you can somehow score an invitation or you’re willing to pay a little extra to order the handset from a third-party reseller.
