Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition officially has a release date, bringing the popular indie “metroidvania” game to the remaining platforms.
Sticking with the game’s preferred platform, the PlayStation 4 will get first stab on July 1, and the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U will follow shortly with a release the next day on July 2.
Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition comes with all the DLC already loaded into the PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC versions of the game. Extra bosses, attacks, and levels will also be added, giving veterans of the game something new to look forward to.
DrinkBox’s hilarious luchador inspired platformer is one of my favorite indie games to date. The team spared no expense when jam-packing it with smart boss fights, excellent platforming segments, and hilarious “Mexican” themed jokes and references to video game culture. I ended up playing it on the Vita, but something tells me I’d like to play the game on a big screen. Maybe I’ll pick up the PlayStation 4 version if the new levels and bosses are worth it.
Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition will be released on the PlayStation 4Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC builds the first week of July.
