Pre-orders are a thing of the past. The new hotness is now pre-loading, buying the game digitally and downloading it before it even becomes available through more conventional markets. The PlayStation 4 is now ready to serve you games you can’t play yet.
First up and available from the service is Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. You’ll be able to download the game’s files, even in standby mode, a few days before the June 24 release date. Once unlocked by Sony, you’ll have your Day 1 game ready to play without the need to drive to the store or even the normally required download time. A quick press of the button and you might be the first person ever to play the game.
Speaking of games, plenty of Sony’s biggest hits from last week’s E3 are already available to pick up right now. The Order: 1886, Far Cry 4, Bloodborne, and even Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End can be bought for the normal price of $59.99. Half of these games won’t be available for a year or maybe even two. Heck, some of them don’t even have release window yet, but that won’t stop Sony from selling them to you.
Just remember, as seen on every pre-order page, “CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE EXCEPT WHERE REQUIRED BY LAW.”
All titles that have been available on PSN for pre-order since May 20 are also now subject to pre-loading as well. Any takers?
