Zelda Williams, daughter of Robin Williams and frequent collaborator with Nintendo, teased before E3 that she had an “extra special” surprise this year. While she didn’t reveal the new Legend of Zelda game, something that producer Eiji Aonuma did, she did appear on stage during the Super Smash Bros. Invitational and teased something else many Nintendo have have been clamoring for.
Wait, what’s that in her hands? Is that.. the Majora’s Mask?
Yes, Zelda Williams is holding the Majora’s Mask, the iconic symbol of the oddball sequel to Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64. Nintendo has been hinting and teasing at this remake for quite some time, so consider this as just the latest is a long string to assurances that this oft requested project is indeed on the way.
All we are waiting for is official confirmation at this point.
If true, Nintendo would currently have three Zelda games in the works. The recently announced Wii U game looks fabulous, Hyrule Warriors is going to be all kinds of awesome, and the Majora’s Mask remake is going to open the game to a whole generation of gamers who never owned a Nintendo 64. It’s a great time to be a Zelda fan.
