Sin City: A Dame to Kill for Trailer Sets A Wonderfully Dark Mood

We were always marginally interested in Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. It’s been nearly ten years since the first film came out, so you’ll forgive us if our interest waned just a tad. However, after today’s fresh trailer, we’re as amped as ever. Aug. 22 can’t come soon enough.

The earlier trailers we saw gave us quick glimpses at what to expect in terms of the plot, but this latest trailer really dives deep into the film’s story. The familiar style looks to be used to great effect here, too, giving the impression of a living, breathing graphic novel. The trailer sets an outstanding noir mood, and the new characters appear as though they’re bringing a lot to A Dame to Kill For.

The newest Sin City is once again being handled by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, and is based on stories penned by Miller. In addition to some familiar actors returning from the first movie, including Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson, A Dame to Kill For will also include Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Eva Green. The film is set to hit theaters in the U.S. on Aug. 22.
