Man, the Nintendo 3DS has a lot of “life simulator” games. If Harvest Moon, Rune Factory 4, Tomodachi Life, Song of Seasons, and Animal Crossing aren’t enough to rescue you from your mundane existence, then why not let Fantasy Life be the next game to try and do so? Level-5’s “slice of life” RPG will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 24 according to Nintendo.
The game will drop you in a fantasy world and have you start your character’s new life. Build a house, set up a job, farm, and go about interacting with other players and completing missions with one another.
Fantasy Life proved to be pretty popular in Japan, where it released last December, and the extra boost of special content comes from contributions from Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu and artist Yoshitaka Amano.
This genre is way too crowded on the Nintendo 3DS, and I barely have time to enjoy even one. Fantasy Life looks intriguing enough to spend a bit of time with, but there are simply too many other options out there to commit to it. I want to give it a try before I decide anything.
