Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, and whatever else the kids are playing these days can wait. The original king of the FPS genre is finally back and ready to take the video gaming world by storm. id Software and Bethesda Software are all set to reveal the next game in the classic first-person shooter franchise, DOOM.
The only problem is that the companies are waiting for a full reveal for its hardcore fans at QuakeCon.
That’s okay since it is only a month away, and the E3 teaser is more than enough to keep the PC gaming world chattering, even if there is no gameplay to show. id’s CG monster looks drop dead fantastic and straight from the classic series thanks to “the unholy union of flesh and metal” that is so ingrained into his design.
DOOM 4, as it has been normally called up until now, has been rumored to be in development since 2007, but after a overhaul in 2011 pushed back its release, we will finally be seeing a game seven years in development. Just one more month to go.
I was never much of a PC gamer when I was a kid, but DOOM is one of the few exceptions. I’ve run through it more times than I care to remember, both with and without the classic IDDQD and IDKFA codes.
Again, DOOM will be fully revealed at QuakeCon next month, so just enjoy this teaser trailer until then.
