It looks like T-Mobile is getting its hands on another Samsung smartphone later this year, at least according to the latest @evleaks dispatch revealing a photo of the alleged Galaxy Avant. Based on its name and the leaked press render we’d guess we’re looking at a cheap to mid-range handset, though it’s hard to say with any certainty considering how little we know.
This is clearly an Android device, but beyond that it’s impossible to know anything for sure. The back panel appears to be made from a simple textured plastic, and it looks like there’s a slight camera hump. That could mean a higher megapixel count, or simply a poor design as part of an effort to lower the price. We also see a single flash module on the back along with a small speaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack up top.
This is the first we’ve heard of the Galaxy Avant, though we’ll keep an eye out for any more news. Samsung generally doesn’t make a big show of its mid-range devices though, so it’s possible the phone could be announced in the near future with a simple press release before it hits T-Mobile’s shelves. Until then there are plenty of other Samsung smartphones to choose from.
