There’s a new Zelda title coming to the Wii U next year. And now I’m ready to buy a Wii U.
During Nintendo’s Direct presentation on Tuesday, the company gave us our first glimpse of the new game, explaining how the title was influenced by previous entires in the Zelda universe. It looks absolutely gorgeous, and harkens back to the most recent console Zelda title in terms of art direction, Skyward Sword. That’s not a bad thing at all, because it translates very well to Wii U, and looks absolutely gorgeous.
As an open world, Nintendo says players can enter different dungeons and areas from anywhere, not just a pre-determined path—that gives players more freedom to explore and complete the story how they want. Once again players will ride a horse to get around the world—remember Ocarina of Time?—which Nintendo showed off to great effect. We saw a pretty killer battle take place, with the titular hero battling a pretty ferocious monster. We loved every second of it.
