There have been a lot of big Android releases this year, but none perhaps as big as LG’s behemoth G3. The company’s next generation superphone has quickly become one of the frontrunners for handset of the year—and that’s saying something considering what’s already been released. It takes something truly special to outshine the HTC One (M8) and Galaxy S5, but the G3 just might do the impossible.
The G3’s specs, for the most part, are what we expected for a next generation device: 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4.2, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chip, 13-megapixel camera, and more. But it also comes with laser autofocus technology, and, the most exciting part, the G3 sports a 5.5-inch QuadHD display, which looks absolutely stunning. The design has been revamped, too, completing a package that is among the best we’ve ever seen.
We haven’t had our hands on the G3 long enough to give you any final judgments for a review, but we’re still gawking over just how incredible the device is on first impression; it’s fast, the barely-there bezel looks terrific, and so far the shots we’ve taken with the G3’s 13-megapixel camera look great. We’ll have plenty more coverage on the G3 throughout the week, and start collecting our thoughts for a review soon, so stay tuned for that.
