Bloodborne Announced for PlayStation 4 from the Creator of Dark Souls

During its PlayStation E3 press conference, Sony revealed the latest game from Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. From Software has cast aside the codename of “Project Beast” and officially branded its first foray into the next-gen as Bloodborne.

Although recently promoted to he president of his company, I am glad to see that Miyazaki still has time for the creative side of the industry. Or rather, maybe I am because this latest vision is the most unfriendly game in recent memory.

Not much can be told from the game that the trailer does not show. It takes place during a Victorian inspired English setting, and you play as a wandering hunter of sorts, violently murdering werewolves with the most brutal of bladed weapons. It seems only the horror aesthetic sets it apart from the steam-punk theme of The Order: 1886, but I can already tell which one I am more excited for.

Just watch the trailer and see for yourself. Can you handle Bloodborne? It will be released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, but I wouldn’t count out other platforms just yet.
