Glad you were able to meet me here. Were you followed? You sure? Good. Keep this between us – the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) just joined Twitter. OK we kid, kind of – the CIA did really just join Twitter, and it has a hilarious new first tweet for the world:

The CIA might follow people in unmarked black cars in real life, but on Twitter it’s only following 25 other accounts so far, mostly government agencies like NASA, DEA, FBI, Homeland Security all branches of the military and, of course, the NSA. What sort of news can we expect from the CIA Twitter account? Probably mostly updates, statements and information on career opportunities. Maybe it will surprise us with additional humorous tweets – the first one is a good start – but the CIA is usually pretty buttoned up.
