Google Glass has struggled to break into the mainstream, and not just because of its insane price. The device’s design is still too weird and too cold despite the company’s best efforts to convince us otherwise. That may finally change however, now that Google’s teamed up with American fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg’s studio, DVF.
The new lineup, officially called “DVF | Made for Glass,” comes in three options. There are two sunglass models, one in all black and a second futuristic colorful design. There’s also a regular set of glasses with red frames. The new Google Glass models looks nice, though they’ll definitely still draw plenty of attention to the wearer.
Von Furstenberg has worked with Google to promote Glass in the past, even wearing an early version of the device during a runway show in 2012. The new models will be available to purchase later this month on June 23 directly from Google or through online retailer Net-a-Porter. These chic new designs are actually more expensive than regular Google Glass, with the prescription model priced at $1725. The sunglasses retail for $1620 each.
