Apple’s most used app, iMessage, is getting some big updates in iOS 8, among them some changes to how Group Messages are handled. Now, when you’re in a group message, you’ll be able to name a thread, add or remove people on the fly, and even take yourself out of a chat—that means you won’t get bombarded with messages throughout the day if you don’t want to. There’s even a new Do Not Disturb feature specific to group messages, or even individual threads, too.

You can also share your location with people if you want to, which might be good if you’re at a sports arena with friends, or maybe at the beach and want to meet up. Apple also said you can also easily share audio and video recordings right in Messages. The audio messages can be replied to simply by holding your iOS device up to your ear; lower the phone and it’ll send.
