This was bound to happen, and if any company was going to do it, it was going to be Samsung. But it looks like the upcoming Galaxy Mega will indeed feature a 7-inch display. We’ve actually gotten brief glimpses at the device before, and this is somewhat similar—thanks to a third-party case manufacturer, we can see the device in all its 7-inch glory. Of course, we don’t get the true scale of the handset when it’s a simple render, but imagine trying to stuff a Nexus 7 in your pocket. Seems absurd, right?

Samsung’s Galaxy Mega lineup was never meant to be its flagship series, but without explanation, it’s become a vital part of the company’s mobile business—enough to warrant a sequel. From what has been leaked thus far, we’re expecting the 7-inch Galaxy Mega to sport a 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (microSD expandable), 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.3 with a variation of TouchWiz built specifically for the 7-inch form factor.

This image doesn’t provide much, and frankly it looks pretty generic, but it’s yet another glimpse at just how big Samsung is willing to go. When 5.8 and 6.3-inch devices aren’t enough, it’s time to push the limits to 7 inches. Really, what’s to stop a company from going higher than that? 8-inch, 9-inch? Higher? Wouldn’t been shocked to see it happen.
