Play Smash Bros. on Wii U with GameCube Controllers Thanks to Official Nintendo Adapter

The best controller for Super Smash Bros.? No contest. The GameCube controller is the weapon of choice for a lot of Smash fans.

Nintendo has good news for those folks. The upcoming Super Smash Bros. on Wii U will work with GameCube controllers. Even better, Nintendo’s going to sell a four controller USB adapter specifically for GameCube inputs.

The news came today by way of a tweet from Nintendo of America.

The tweet, as you can see, does not mention pricing. We imagine we’ll hear more about this adapter near or shortly after E3.

Nintendo also released a video concerning the Smash Bros. Invitational Tournament set to go down at E3 this year. At 2:20 in the video (seen below) they show off the controller adapter, complete with sexy music.

Nintendo really seems to be coming at this new Smash entry with fans in mind. Kudos to them for that, right?
