One of the big exclusive games Microsoft showed off at least year’s Xbox One unveiling has been pushed into 2015.
In a video released by Remedy Entertainment, writer Sam Lake announced that Quantum Break will be pushed into 2015, but said that we’ll get to see something more substantial from the game not at E3 in June, but at Gamescom in August.
This isn’t the first time a game from Remedy has been delayed. The original Max Payne was subject to a number of delays before its eventual 2001 release, and Alan Wake came out years after it was originally intended. Remedy always seems to achieve its ambitions, but it isn’t known for getting there on time.
Lake takes a moment to explain a bit more about how the game and planned television show will interact. The game, he explains, will be about the hero, while the show will be about the villains. At the end of the video, we get a short in-engine preview that shows some of Remedy’s usual third-person character action, but the last shot shows the main character walking past a soldier paused mid-shot. The visual effects are looking great, and I can’t wait to see more of it in August.
