Pushmo World on Wii U Creates Push Puzzles of Epic Proportions

Intelligent Sytem’s puzzle platformers Pushmo and Crashmo are two of the biggest fan favorite games on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Seriously, you can’t enter a eSop recommendation topic without these two littered in every post.

Nintendo has obviously not turned a blind eye to this series’ popularity. It has confirmed that Pushmo will soon be getting a full blown HD sequel on the Wii U, jam packed with all the puzzles and charm of the original.

The lack of 3D capability on the Wii U’s GamePad might be a bit of a disappointment, but it was never especially necessary to beat the original game. Along with the HD graphics, which can give a tremendous sense of scale to bigger puzzles not capable on the Nintendo 3DS, this version will also come with a level editor that takes full advantage of the Wii U’s touch screen.

More obstacles, more options, and more sharing. Pushmo was a pleasant surprise on the Nintendo 3DS, and it will make a fine Wii U game depending on the asking price. It isn’t the sequel most Nintendo fans have been asking for, but it’s hard to say “no” now that it exists.

Release is only confirmed for Japan so far, but hopefully we’l see it stateside and possibly during the Nintendo Direct presentation at E3.

Editor’s Note:¬†Nintendo of America sent out a press release confirming¬†Pushmo World for Wii U in the western world. It will sell for $9.99 on June 19th. -Joey
