Google is reportedly testing a new design for its Google Now weather info cards. It appears to be replacing the old stacked layout with a new look that shows more information from multiple regions at the same time. Android Police spotted the update earlier today after several Android fans posted their own Google Now screenshots online.
As you can see, the old version of Google Now (in the picture above, on the right) showed your current location upfront, stacking info cards for other relevant locations out of sight behind it. The new version (on the left) opts for a quick list, which shows the temperature and weather in several regions at once. The one drawback, however, is that you can no longer see your multi-day forecast without first clicking on an individual region.
It seems like the update is already rolling out to some users, but we kind of wish there was an option to keep the old view. It’s nice to see the weather for multiple regions at once, but we prefer quicker access to the full week’s forecast. It’s possible Google is just experimenting with the new design, but don’t be surprised if it pops up on your own phone in the near future.
