Well, if there were any doubts that Samsung wasn’t going to launch the Galaxy S5 Active, we can put them to rest now. Even though we’ve seen the device pop up in videos and more, today we’re getting one of the clearest looks yet thanks to @Evleaks: what appears to be a press image of the Galaxy S5 complete with AT&T branding.
In earlier leaks we learned that Samsung is keeping the 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy S5 Active, even though last year it opted for an LCD panel for the S4 Active. Also, we’re expecting a 2.4GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, a 15.9-megapixel camera and, presumably, an even more water-resistant and drop-proof design than the Galaxy S5. It looks like there’s some extra rubber around the phone in the photo above, which will no doubt help its durability.
Last year’s Galaxy S4 Active had some issues with actually being water-resistant. Let’s hope they aren’t repeated this year all over again. No word yet on pricing or a release date, but it seems like things are coming together pretty quickly now.
