HTC isn’t expected to release the One (M8) Prime—the phablet successor to its latest flagship phone—until September, but we may not have to wait that long for the company’s next big thing. The Taiwanese phone maker took to Twitter last night to tease “more beautiful curves” in the new future, which has us thinking it could be releasing something new very soon even if it’s not the rumored M8 Prime.

The One (M8) Prime is expected offer all the latest hardware, including a Snapdragon 805 processor, 5.5-inch 2k display and 3GB of RAM along with a waterproof aluminum design, but like we said the upcoming phablet probably won’t launch until September around the same time Apple announces its next iPhone and Samsung unveils the Galaxy Note 4. So what else could HTC be announcing? There are a few possibilities ranging from One (M8) spinoffs to more surprising options.
Based on recent leaks, we’re expecting HTC to announce a One Remix device in the near future, though it looks like the upcoming handset is just a blue version of the One mini 2 reserved for Verizon. Recent rumors also suggest HTC could be working on a new Nexus tablet codenamed “Flounder,” which Google could announce sometime this summer.
It’s too soon to predict exactly what HTC is hinting at on Twitter, though we wouldn’t mind seeing the M8 Prime or a curvy aluminum Nexus tablet announced in the near future. HTC has an excellent track record so far this year with both the One (M8) and its mini variant blowing us away, and we’re sure whatever comes next will be just as impressive.
