We’ve already seen some big smartphone releases this year, most notably the Galaxy S5 and HTC One. But those two look like they’ll be nothing more than child’s toys when the LG G3 is unveiled next week. The device was confirmed by LG a while back, and has made numerous appearances ahead of its launch. At this point, the frequency at which the G3 is leaking out is a little ridiculous. But that doesn’t mean we’re any less excited for what’s in store.
Evleaks posted some new shots of the device over the weekend—in white, gold and gray—and it looks absolutely stunning. We still have mixed feelings about the rear button placement, but otherwise the handset looks incredible, and definitely has the potential to lead the charge into superphone territory. It essentially looks like a Nexus 5 made over with an aluminum chassis, plus the redesigned buttons on the back. On the front, the screen leaves very little bezel on top and bottom, and there’s that strange laser autofocus sensor out on back we’ve been hearing about.
As for specs, we’ve been hearing the device will sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 13-megapixel camera, 3000mAh battery and a reworked skin that will allegedly be flatter. Many of the software improvements LG has planned are still unclear, so we’re eagerly awaiting what the company has planned. Otherwise, this is one of the best looking devices we’ve ever seen, and will undoubtedly give the HTC One (M8) and Galaxy S5 a run for their money. This might even best the M8’s design, though we won’t actually know until we use the G3.
LG’s event is scheduled for May 27, so we’re only a week away from officially seeing the G3 unveiled. Can the G3 quietly emerge as one of this year’s top smartphones? It’s certainly looking that way. Up top you can see the two new pictures, along with some previously leaked images.
Just yesterday LG posted yet another teaser for its new flagship smartphone, the LG G3, that suggest it will offer a metal body, optical image stabilization (OIS), and re-designed buttons on the back panel. Now, thanks to three images published by PhoneArena on Wednesday, we have the best look at the device so far, with views […]
LG is acting all casual ahead of its May 27 event, pretending like its upcoming G3 flagship is some big mystery. Truth is we’ve seen it on numerous occasions over the past several months, and the company has even acknowledged its existence. But if you’re persuaded by quick editing and blaring music, the company’s new […]
The LG G3 has been leaked nearly as often as the HTC One (M8), so we’re already pretty certain we know what the device is going to look like. One leaked render showed the phone in black, another revealed a white version, yet another showed what appeared to be a brushed aluminum design, and now GSM Arena […]
