Rumor has it that the Xbox One is set to get Halo: The Master Chief Collection, an anthology that brings together upgraded versions of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 to the newest generation of consoles.
When Microsoft announced the official title and planned launch date for Halo 5, it dropped a subtle hint that gamers would be embarking into the world of Halo this fall.
Bonnie Ross, General Manager at 343 Industries, specifically offered this about Halo in 2014 in that story:
Many fans noted that I was very deliberate with my phrasing on stage at E3 last year. I spoke about a “journey,” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step. We’ll give you much more information about our plans for this year at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9, and we’re confident that “Halo” fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store.
The rumored Master Chief Collection comes from Engadget and unidentified sources close to the matter. Could this big collection be the first step in the Journey Bonnie Ross talks about above?
We’ll know shortly. Microsoft’s press conference at E3 goes down during the morning of June 9. We’ll have more on Halo and its rumored releases then. Stay tuned.
