First Real Galaxy S5 Prime Pictures Leak

The first real pictures of Samsung’s so-called S5 Prime have allegedly leaked out, possibly showing off the Korean company’s more premium future. To the naked eye, it doesn’t appear like there are many differences cosmetically; it still has that pocked rear casing (that feels better than it looks), water-proof durability, and camera/heart rate sensor layout. But, otherwise, how is than any different than the device that Samsung just released? That rear casing, incidentally, is supposedly metal.

From what we’ve heard, Samsung’s more premium version will sport a Quad HD AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and Snapdragon 805 processor, though beyond that we’re not too sure if this will come with the same camera and software features. Samsung’s Prime device is supposedly a response to LG’s upcoming G3, which we’re expecting to see at the end of this month at LG’s scheduled event. So where does that leave folks who purchased the S5? High and dry it seems.

Samsung’s approach has always been to overwhelm the market with options, though how the company advertises this to consumers is anyone’s guess, especially this close to a flagship release. Just because the S5 Prime is (possibly) popping up online, however, doesn’t mean we’ll see it anytime soon. But it sure has been breaking cover a lot recently, so its release might be closer than we think.
