From the Kinect-less Xbox One to another entry in the Halo series, Microsoft is already stoking the flames for what the clearly hope is one of their best E3s yet.
Halo 5: Guardians was revealed this morning on the official Xbox Wire. This is the full game that we saw teased during last year’s E3 press conference.
Halo 5 will continue Master Chief’s story in the Halo universe. It’s set to launch in the Fall of 2015 on only the Xbox One. Though, the post notes that our “journey begins” this year. They’ll give us more on that at E3.
Bonnie Ross, General Manager at 343 Industries, was the one that did up the full post on Xbox Wire. She had this to offer about the scope of Halo 5.
“Halo 5: Guardians” is a bigger effort than “Halo 4.” That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.
We’ll have more on this one as it comes. Expect a bit from it during E3, too.
Is this the first numbered Halo game with a subtitle? I believe it is.
