I had mentioned yesterday that Watch_Dogs was officially taking the idea of video game pack-ins one step too far, but Dragon Age: Inquisition sure is giving it a run for its money as the most outlandish of the year.
For $170, nearly three times the price of the normal game, the Dragon Age: Inquisition – Inquisitor’s Edition will provide you with a lot more than the standard game. Within the reptile skin decorated case, you’ll find the game, an Inquisitor’s Badge, a map of the kingdom of Thedas, coins, a lockpick set, a sketchbook, tarot cards, quill and ink, an Inquisitor’s Journal, and board game pieces.
There’s enough in here to become an Inquisitor all on your own, however I thought the point of video game RPGs was to spare you all the nerdy imagination that comes with tabletop RPGs and do all the work for you. This is one step shy of dressing up for a night with your D&D buddies, or are you really going to break into someone’s house with your lockpicks?
Dragon Age: Inquisition will be available on Oct. 7 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
