Pegatron already builds some of Apple’s iPhone products, including the iPhone 5c, and a new report out of Asia suggests the manufacturer has inked a deal with Apple to produce some of Apple’s iPhone 6 devices. While reports from earlier this year suggested Pegatron might build as many as 50 percent of all iPhone 6 models, Commercial Times said recently the company will build about 15 percent of the models. A gallery of what the new device might look like is included above.
In total, Pegatron is expecting to ship 50 million iPhone units for the year, including iPhone 5s and iPhone 5s products that it’s already shipping, plus the new addition of the iPhone 6, an annual growth rate of about 4 percent, according to Commercial Times. The news outlet backed up earlier rumors that have also pointed to a larger 4.7-inch display on the iPhone 6, and it added that the device is expected to launch in September, a year after the iPhone 5s made its debut.
Several other rumors have suggested Apple is also building a larger 5.5-inch iPhone, though the launch has reportedly been pushed back to later in the year due to component shortages.
