Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Developer Edition for Verizon is finally here, though it will cost you $599 to pick up the new handset. The Galaxy S5 variant was first announced back in early April, but only became available to purchase this weekend through the carrier’s website.
Aside from the unlockable bootloader, the Galaxy S5 Developer Edition is identical to the standard model. It comes equipped with a 5.1-inch 1080p display, a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with microSD support up to 128GB, a 16-megapixel camera, a 2800mAh battery, a heart rate monitor and a fingerprint reader. It runs Android 4.4.2 and comes in “Charcoal Black.”
The Galaxy S5 Developer Edition is really only meant for developers hoping to create apps for the device, which explains the high price and limited availability. If you’ve been waiting for this model to arrive hit the source link to pick up your copy. If not, you’re better off going directly through a carrier or waiting for the rumored Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition.
