Bethesda Posts ‘Intended’ Requirements for Wolfenstein PC

Wolfenstein - The New Order - 5

Bethesda recently published the recommended requirements for Wolfenstein: The New Order. The post lists these as the requirements “based on the game being a next-gen experience running at 60fps. These are the system requirements to deliver the PC game as it was intended to be experienced.”

  • 64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
  • Intel Core i7 or equivalent AMD
  • 4 GB System RAM
  • 50 GB free HDD space
  • GeForce 460, ATI Radeon HD 6850
  • High Speed Internet Connection
  • Steam account and activation required

The processor requirement is fairly beefy, but the game should run as intended on a computer that was top of the line 4 years ago. The post never refers to them as ‘minimum’ requirements, but the Steam page for the game lists the minimum requirements for the game as being identical to those listed above. With that said, the game is also appearing on the previous generation of consoles, so the game should work on older PCs as well. It just won’t be ‘as intended.’

If you’re going for a next-gen experience of any kind – PC or console – you’ll need 47 gigabytes of space available, so get ready for a long download. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players will need 8GB of space available for a required installation, similar to Grand Theft Auto V. The Xbox 360 version occupies four discs, with the first being a mandatory installation disc.

Wolfenstein: The New Order releases to for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 20.
