Looking to pick up a Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition? You can’t buy one just yet, but it appears that the release is imminent.

A tipster pointed out to Phandroid that the image for the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition on the Google Play Store has been swapped out for a photo of the Galaxy S5. It’s clearly a high-resolution photo of Samsung’s new flagship smartphone running a pure version of Android 4.4 KitKat.

Oddly, however, there hasn’t been a mention of a Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition device from Samsung or Google until now. HTC, on the other hand, launched a One (M8) Google Play Edition device at the same time as its standard model. For now, we don’t have much to go off of other than the assumption that the Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition is coming soon, and will likely be available in at least white, as the image suggests.

Samsung told TechnoBuffalo it has nothing to share. Google said it does not comment on rumors or speculation.
