The highly-anticipated OnePlus One was finally announced this week starting at just $299 off-contract, but unfortunately you can’t buy the smartphone just yet. There is one way to get your hands on the OnePlus One before everyone else, though you may not like what you’ll need to do to get the new device.

For 100 lucky fans the OnePlus One will cost just $1, though you’ll also have to say goodbye to your current smartphone. To apply,  just fill out a short application on the company’s site, detailing which phone you’ll be destroying and your “destruction method” of choice. If you win you’ll have to record a video of the smartphone carnage and share it on YouTube. In return, OnePlus will send you a 16GB Silk White copy of its new phone along with three invitations to purchase the device that you can share with your friends or horde for yourself.

The OnePlus One offers top-notch specs including a 5.5-inch 1080ps display, a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 3100mAh battery. It also runs CyanogenMod 11S on top of Android 4.4 KitKat. There’s no question this is an impressive device, though we’re not so sure it’s worth smashing you current smartphone for an early copy. If you don’t mind waiting you can always pick up the OnePlus One later this year starting at $299, which is still a really great deal.
