There’s still a lot we don’t know about the upcoming iPhone 6, and a new report from Japanese site Macotakara adds one more rumor to the pile. Citing a “reliable” source, the report claims the upcoming device will feature a curved glass design around the edges, offering some sort of hybrid between the iPhone 5s and 5c design.
If Macotakara’s claim turn out to be true, it could be a huge departure from the rigid corners we’ve come to know over the past few years starting with the iPhone 4 all the way through the iPhone 5s.The curved glass could even mean a bezel-free screen if the display is able to wrap all the way around the device’s edges.
Even if the iPhone 6 does feature some sort of curved screen, it’s still unlikely it could be as curvy as Samsung’s Galaxy Round or the LG G Flex. Apple’s next smartphone is expected to mark a significant update over last year’s models though, with rumors pointing to a 4.7-inch model and even a 5.5-inch iPhablet. So far, Apple is expected to make an announcement in September, a year after the introduction of the iPhone 5s.
