Bite-sized games seem like a perfect fit for a bite-sized gaming platform, right? So why aren’t NES Remix and its follow-up, NES Remix 2, available on 3DS?
Series director Koichi Hayashida explains in an interview with IGN that “in order to accomplish what we wanted with NES Remix and get the effect we wanted out of it and the value that we wanted it to have, we needed some more machine power.”
“The Wii U offered that up for us pretty easily, and it would’ve been more difficult to do it for the 3DS,” he adds.
NES Remix 2 hits the Wii U eShop this Friday and includes not only the variety of remixed games, but Super Luigi Bros. as well – the entirety of Super Mario Bros., but in reverse. While you wait for the game to hit the eShop, check out our preview.
